Onboarding & Process

Finding editors you can work with is hard! To make the process as anxiety-free as possible, take a look at how our onboarding process looks like!

Send an email with details of your project

Writing is a very subjective art, and editors will have their own specialties and preferences! You can send us an email with the following details of your project so we know if your work is something we can work on:

  • Summary/blurb/pitch of your book.

  • Genre & word count.

  • Trigger & content warnings if applicable.

  • Sample chapters.

You can easily do this by going to the INQUIRE page. We have a form ready for you to fill out with all the necessary details!

2

Book your sample edits

Once we've taken a look at your book and think we're a great fit, we can book your free sample edit. Usually, this would take anywhere near 3-5 working days.

3

Sign an editorial agreement

If you're happy with the sample edits and would like to move forward, we'll send you an editorial agreement. Editorial agreements exist to protect both client and editor! Our clauses ensure that we will not use any generative artificial intelligence, and that we also won't be editing AI-generated works.

This will also list out specifics like schedule, mode of delivery, and negotiated payment plans if applicable.

4

Book & wait for delivery

You'll send in the work and we'll confirm if we have everything we need. Depending on the length of the work and the packages involved, we may take 4-5 weeks for each phase.

5

Free, ongoing consultations for rendered critiques

We won't leave you after we're done! For developmental edits, we offer free consultations on rendered critiques. This way, you're not wondering what we meant about a certain character or a chapter. Limited service inquiry is also available for all other editing services (like line & copy, and proofreading) to allow for clarifications.
